GONZALO CELORIO

Gonzalo Celorio (Mexico, 1948) studied Spanish language and literature at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts of the Autonomous National University of Mexico, where he is professor of Latin American Literature since 1974. He has also taught at the Iberoamericana University and in Mexico School. He is a member of the National System of Art Creators and is a number member of the Mexican Academy, which is follower of the Spanish one. Celorio has published ten books. Besides novels, his writings include essays, literature and architecture. His work has been translated to English, French, Italian and Portuguese. Gonzalo Celorio has obtained Prizes such as Two Oceans Prize in Biarritz, France (1997), or IMPAC-Conarte-ITESM Prize (1999).

TESSA DE LOO

Tessa de Loo (b. 1945) majored in Dutch and taught for several years before making her debut as a writer with the short-story collection De meisjes van de suikerwerkfabriek (‘The Candy Factory Girls’, 1983, Anton Wachter Prize and Gouden Ezelsoor 1984), which became a great success. After this she wrote the novel Meander (1986) and the gift novella for National Book Week 1987 Het rookoffer (‘The Burnt Offering’). Following her novel Isabelle (1989). In 1993 her voluminous novel De tweeling (‘The Twins’) appeared, and it has proven her biggest success to date.

RONALD GIPHART

While at university studying Dutch literature, Ronald Giphart (b. 1965) worked as a night porter in a hospital, a job leaving him enough time to write his first novel, Ik ook van jou (I Do Too, 1992). It won him the Golden Dog-Ear Award for the best-sold debut. He went on to publish the novels Giph (1993), Feest der liefde (The Feast of Love, 1995), Phileine zegt sorry (Phileine Says Sorry, 1996), De Voorzitter (The Soccer President, 1999), Ik omhels je met duizend armen (I Embrace You with a Thousand Arms, 2000) and Troost (Consolation, 2005). Three of his novels have been made into a film. With sales figures averaging 150,000 copies per title, Giphart is one of the most successful writers in the Netherlands today.

BOHUMIL HRABAL

Bohumil Hrabal (1914-1997) was born near Brno, but his childhood Hrabal spent in Nymburk, where his father worked as a brewery manager. Just before the World War II, Hrabal entered Charles University, Prague. Ιn 1946 Hrabal received his law degree, but he never practiced. Instead he tried a wide variety of occupations. These experiences provided him much material for his tales and anecdotes. Hrabal established himself relatively late as writer, at the age of 49. Hrabal's characters are poor workers, soldiers, political anarchists, antiheroes, poets, and social misfits, eccentrics, whose imagination and personal histories bring colour into the meaningless everyday life. His work has been translated to English, French, Italian, German, Spanish and other languages.

Eleni Ladia, born in 1945 in Athens. Studied Archaeology and Theology in University of Athens.She has been awarded several times. Several of her short stories have been translated in English, Frensh and other languages. Her articles and studies have been published in various magazines and newspapers.

Yiangos Oikonomidis, born in 1951 in London. He studied Political Sciences in Athens and London. He served our country as ambassador in two countries, South Africa (2001-2005) and India (2005-2008). The book “Diplomatic Stories” is his first litarary effort.

Dinos Panidis was born in Thessaloniki in 1972. He took advertising and macro- economic courses. He also followed courses and attended seminars in sculpture, design, History of Art and specialized in still life and underwater photography. At present he works as freelance photographer specializing in underwater photography and also works in advertising.

PHILIPPE DJIAN

Philippe Djian, Paris, June 1949. Djian graduated from the ESJ Paris. After a period of wandering and odd jobs, he published a volume of short stories, 50 contre 1 (1981), and then the novels Bleu comme l'enfer (1982) and Zone érogène (1984) before gaining fame with his subsequent novels 37°2 le matin (1985), Maudit Manège (1986), Echine (1988), Crocodiles (short stories) (1989), Lent dehors (1991), Sotos (1993), and Assassins (1994).
Two of his novels were adapted to movies: 37°2 le matin (1986; English title Betty Blue) which was filmed by Jean-Jacques Beineix and Bleu comme l'enfer (1986; English title "Blue Hell") directed by Yves Boisset. He also co-wrote the screenplay of "Ne fais pas ça" (2004) with Luc Bondy.
Djian lives in Biarritz and writes a novel every 18 months period on average. With "Doggy Bag", written in 2005, he started a 6 season’s literary series inspired by American TV series.

IOANNA TSOLOMITI

Ioanna Tsolomiti graduated from School of Arts; her specialty is Ceramist, Free Hand Drawing and Sculpture. She is also graduated from Cooking School. She was professor of CHEF D’ OEUVRE and LE MONDE, Cooking Schools. At the same time she was a member of the selection board of all schools and is a member of CHEF CLUB. She has 30 years of service to the cuisine. She was Executive Chef in politicians. She had many years of cooperation with restaurants in the organization and operation of kitchen (A la Carte). She was a Chef at Olympic Games in Athens 2004.
She has excellent knowledge of Traditional and Modern Greek cuisine and very good knowledge of Italian, International, Asian, French, fusion and light cuisine. Her last occupation is the dietary and vegetarian cuisine.

ELEFTHERIA KRIKELI

Eleftheria Krikeli, the gender Kalogeratou, was given birth in Argostoli of Kefalonia. Studied Medicine in the University of Athens and did her postgraduate study in the Academic Hospital of Boston (Boston City Hospital), acquiring the specialty of Pathologist. After ten years in the U.S.A., she returned in Greece and was included dynamically in the space of private health. From February 2002 she is Chief of the 4th Department of Internal Medicine at Henry Dunant Hospital. This is her first author's effort.

Fernando Aramburu (San Sebastián, 1959) is a Spanish writer. He graduated in Spanish Philology and has been living and working as a lecturer in Spanish Language in Germany since 1985.
His book El Trompetista del Utopia (The Trompetist of Utopia) it has been made into a film called “Under the Stars”.

George Kokotos, born in 1936, Crete. There he spent the war years and early school years. He finished the Athens Second boys High School and then attended the National Technical University from which he obtained the degrees of Rural and Surveying Engineering and Civil Engineering. He was involved in planning studies, landslides and settlements in Evritania, studies and town planning applications. Later he worked on studies and building construction projects private and public, in Rhodes and Crete. He is the creator of Luxury hotels in Elounda, Crete as well as the founder of "Domain G. Kokotos SA" and the winemaking company "Semele SA", producer of the homonymous wine.

EVANGELOS PAPASTRATOS

Evangelos Papastratos (1884-1974) was a Greek businessman born in the city of Agrinio.
Although the youngest of his brothers, he was the first in his family to become involved with the tobacco trade. Along with his brothers Sotiris, Ioannis and Epaminondas, he founded the Papastratos Brothers firm, one of the biggest tobacco companies in Greece until the rise in foreign cigarette imports in the 1970s and the 1980s.
